If you’ve been following this blog, you might know that we took existing FPGA development kits to implement basic algorithm, test and measure if it is feasible to keep this project alive. Since we were able to get 150MH/s we do believe that this project has the future so we’re working on our own PCB design. The whole idea is to get rid of the most elements we don’t need in this project, to use improved power supply, and to implement USB3 functionality. Here’s our new board design and model:
Basic specs of the new AtomMiner PCB:
- Altera Cyclone V FPGA (Variant E)
- Cypress FX3 USB3.0 interface
- PCB Size: 3.15″ x 5.5″
